Alright here is your damn mini review... Castlevania tears and all review right here...

Castlevania for the NES was a rather difficult game to deal with, the stiff controls, the awkward mechanics, and various difficult mechanics to deal with.

Graphics 8/10: For a first generation NES game the graphics at the time were rather well done, characters had a great amount of detail, as did backgrounds, however as the comic pointed out at times the graphics were kind of messy on some items. Over all though for being one of the first generation games it has a lot of detail.

Sound+Music 8/10: Most generally the music and sound do their job, they work well sound clean, you won't find a detailed cracking of a whip, but it get the job done, there are some occasional sound errors, or odd sounds that don't match the function, but a glass shatters when a bottle of holy water breaks, but the doors sound like somebody is slamming a synthe machine into the ground, with it's BOOMGURGLEDOOM! I did notice that a lot of the same sounds were in Goonies 2, which is pretty humorous, but makes sense as I believe Konami did that game to.

Gameplay 5/10: Castlevania major issue for me, was the in it's overall stiff control, and shear Ghouls'n'Goblins level of dickhead difficulty moves, enemy placement, level design, and damage mechanics were all design to really make a person tear out their hair, from being knocked back a mile when getting hit straight into a most the time. The jump was clunky and made it hard to make most jumps, and while the overall the hit boxes work, they could be touching at time, however the sub weapons mostly worked well, and didn't have many issues. Along with the clunky and stiff controls, the enemy is design in every way to take advantage of it and KILL YOU!

Replay value 1/10: To me the game doesn't have any incentive other then to beat your score, which to me is boring, you beat the game, to me doing it better doesn't really change anything it doesn't change the game or anything, if you are into that stuff, then you will get more out of it, but to me there isn't much else going for it.

Overall 6/10: Look I watched other beat it, but I never beat it myself, the game's controls, limited lives and overall mechanics drove me up a wall, and I even tried recently to try it with a game genie, I just was not very good in games like this, funny however I am great at Dark Souls...

Castlevania II is better.

Can we just say that MC and Goonba are a bit tied up in this game? >_<
