Ah the first mini review. Alrighty here today a MINI review of the old Super Mario Brothers game.

Well let's get started.

Super Mario brothers.

Graphics. A era 8 bit game, for it's time probbly showed some of the pretty impressive visuals. But in all honesty. Graphics mean little to squat to me, they are by far in my thoughts the least important gameplay element.

Far to many companies worry about looking good and less about BEING good. Like the recent Gears people talking about how "FACE MELTING GRAPHICS ARE A MUST NEXT GEN."

You know what, this is why games in this gen are still unable to surpass games from 3 + generations ago. How about making a game that last more then 3 hours and has some replay value, and content in general then we can worry about that.

Seriously when I can see a persons pores in their SKIN during the gameplay sections and people still want better graphics, I tend to worry at that point.

For what they are though they get the job done.

Music and Sounds, all the little melodies and jingles are clean and well done, and most the noises while not a wide variety of them, are good at what they a meant to do.

Controls: Well I'm not going to lie, old nintendo games always had a bit of touchy elements to them, some people can barrel through this game without missing a beat, while others can't make it past the first goomba. It's more about learning the controls, they could be tighter, but for how old the game is they do fine.

Gameplay: Well Mario games are pretty simple, get through the stage, get a good score, go on to the next level. Most interesting of course is the almost new game plus this classic had (pretty bad we had games 4 gens ago that had NG+ features, but we still have many games today that don't have it.).

But if I remember correctly when you beat the game you got a new hard mode feature that replaced the various enemies with other harder enemies.

Overall for being a simple game that is just a run the course and try to get a high score they manage to get creative with alot of it.

A classic game worth atleast one playthrough if you can get a nice emulator and controller give it a shot if you never have, see if you can actually beat it. It may be older, but you'd be surprised at how hard some of those games can be.

Now your getting the idea :) @GodMode: Yea, but don't worry, he won't be alone for long, he is going to have others share in his pain and beans has his own share of problems coming up later.

Plans for items to add for the website are such as a character sheet with silhouettes of the current and future characters will be coming out soon also.

Thanks for your responses, an any suggestions/critique please give it, I went back and changed the coloring around on one of the comics you mention. Thanks for the more positive or helpful critique :)

MC is not lucky Why do you have to be so mean to poor MC?? He never hurt anyone. Except Beans, oh and those people in the first comic. Oh, and his dog when he was 5. And then theres the time he set his moms couch on fire. Now that I think about it, MC probably deserves it. Good show old bean!!
